On that article it mentioned restoration to remove Lugosi's cigar smoke stains. I guess we can be thankful for Lugosi's image that cigar smoke made the only stains.

Doing my limited searching online at home on the ancient Mac, I did a google image search for Clara Bow, and some of the pictures of her without makeup did indeed look like the face on the painting.
